How to get there

The Junction Race Club is located on the Carnarvon Mullewa Road approximately 155km east of Carnarvon WA and 10km west of Gascoyne Junction.

The road from Carnarvon to Gascoyne Junction is full bitumen.

The race club road is signposted over the weekend to be sure no one misses the turn!

Ticket
Tickets & Admission

This is a ticketed event. Entry is $80 per person (GST included) and kids under 18 are free.

Tickets for the races will be sold via an online platform. Details of ticket sales will be announced via our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/junctionraces/

All tickets are to be purchased prior to arriving at the course.

There are no tickets available at the gate. You will be refused entry if you do not have a ticket!

Camping
Camping & Facilities

All accommodation on-site is free style camping. Bring your tent, swag, caravan or camper and stay for the weekend!

  • Camp sites are not designated.
  • There are several clean and tidy ablution blocks provided for campers.
  • Small campfires are permitted.

There are several permanent campsites that have been built and used by the same owners for many years. If you do setup in one of these permanent campsites you will be asked to move to another site!

Ablutions and toilets

There are several ablutions and toilet buildings situated around the campgrounds. 

POWER 

There is no power provided at camping sites, but you can bring your own small generator.

Try some of the delicious meals that Charlie's Pizza have on offer:

  • Hand rolled wood fired pizza cooked to order – serve 2 people – 5pm till late
  • Breakfast menu available all weekend 7am til late. Check out our Facebook page for the latest menu

If you cannot live without your morning coffee, never fear! Charlie's pizza also has coffee!

BAR

The bar opens at 11am each day and runs til late.  This is a licensed venue and BYO is only permitted in the camping areas.

All persons entering the licensed bar area must be able to show valid ID. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult when inside the licensed area.

ATM / EFTPOS

EFTPOS and cash out facilities are available at the Merchandise Shop.

Race Books

Race books are available at the Gate for $5.00.

Grab your Junction Races merchandise from the Merchandise Shop - Open each day from 10am. Stock numbers are limited, so get in quick! We sell:

Horse yards

While horse yards are available, we strongly suggest that you bring your own temporary yards as the permanent yards are used by racing on Saturday. Racehorses have first pick of yards before gymkhana horses.

Other Information
Security & Police

The main hall and campsites are routinely monitored by onsite security staff and Police throughout the weekend. Any persons displaying anti-social behavior will be removed from the grounds immediately.

Doctor & Ambulance

A doctor and ambulance are onsite on race day, and an ambulance on the Gymkhana Day.

Rubbish

Bins are provided at the racecourse and the campgrounds and are emptied daily. Please assist us in keeping our racecourse clean and tidy by using the bins provided. 

Wood

Limited wood is provided at the shower blocks. If you wish to have your own campfire, please collect wood enroute to the racecourse. Please do not remove any wood from the shower blocks.

Vehicles and Driving

Your safety is our highest priority! Driver's, please keep your speed below 30km/hr around the grounds.

Police and the JRC committee will monitor patron’s behavior in vehicles. No under-aged or un-licensed drivers are permitted to operate a vehicle.

The Junction Race Club promotes responsible drinking. Please do not drink and drive!

 
Gascoyne Junction Township

Gascoyne Junction is located 170km east of Carnarvon and is home to approximately 60 residents, most of whom work for the Shire of Upper Gascoyne.

The town has a new pub and tourist park which opened in 2014 after the devastating floods on 18th December 2010. The tourist park also has a small convenience store and cafe.

The Gascoyne Junction remote community school caters for K-10 for children living in or around the area. Gascoyne Junction is the gateway to the Kennedy Ranges National Park.
